Your votes have spoken: after years of epic themes like Gods & Goddesses and Heroes & Villains, it’s finally time to lasso in the wild west at the 43rd annual Lakefront 7s. We’re calling for swagger, spurs, ten-gallon hats, denim, fringe — and as always — rugby with spirited flair.
Why Cowboys & Cowgirls?
When Cowboys & Cowgirls nearly won the 2024 theme race, we knew the western frontier had serious staying power.
Now, the timing’s right to fully embrace the grit, energy, and style of the Wild West. Expect:
- Teams outfitted in denim, leather, fringe, bandanas, bolo ties, and boots
- Jerseys reimagined with western prints, embroidered motifs, and bold “Lakefront 7s” branding
- Spectator costumes from ranch chic to frontier flair — think cowgirl dresses, western fringe shawls, and old-town swagger
How to Ride Into the Fun
Get creative with your gear. Mix your favorite rugby gear with western accents — maybe a fringe cape over your jersey, a custom belt buckle, or stitched leather panels. Go full cowboy or cowgirl, or find your own frontier-fusion style.
