Record Setting Team of Brothers Play at the Lakefront 7s.

We’re all familiar with the joke about having enough kids to make a basketball team right? What about a rugby team? Seven brothers signed up to play in the Lakefront 7s tournament one summer and showed just how great a family can play together.

Siblings are one of the greatest gifts your parents can give you that some of us don’t figure out until we’re a little older! They’re built-in best friends for many of us and for this story, teammates too!

More Than Just a Team

At the Lakefront 7s summer rugby tournament, seven brothers signed up to play, creating a record setting moment! In fact, they were the sons of the Lakefront 7s founder, Joe Kloiber. Joe, who passed away in September of last year, set the stage for Lakefront 7s to have the success it has today.

In the past 41 years of Lakefront 7s, there hasn’t been a story like this one! It’s one thing to get people together to create a team, but to have enough brothers in the family to create one is very special.

Heartfelt Stories are Created at Lakefront 7s

We haven’t seen any other record-setting sibling accounts at Lakefront 7s yet. Though we have had some stories that show special moments shared by those who have taken part in the tournament. You can read more on These 3 Heart-Warming Rugby Stories That Make Other Sports Jealous. These stories show just how teams have come together to help in some way or another while highlighting the inspirational story of our talented sports photographer.

Your Rugby Story Could be Next?

Heart-felt moments are always occurring in the world of rugby and we want to know them! Whether they have happened at Lakefronts 7s or at another event, feel good rugby stories should be shared widely!

Check out where we got the inspiration for our “record setting team of brothers” here : “Cayman brothers tie Guiness record for most siblings in an international rugby match” by: Seaford Russel Jr.

Although the Lakefront 7s is not a recognized international fixture, we’re pretty sure seven brothers on a rugby team is a record at any level of compeitition!

Rugby Brings Families Together … Literally!

The Kloiber family has left a powerful mark on the Lakefront 7s. And this record-setting 7s team made of brothers in the same family is just another example.

We can’t help but feel grateful for the achievements that have been created by the families and friends who take part in the tournament. Rugby isn’t just a sport, but a community of passionate people working together to create a positive impact.

Really, the community is one big extended family.
