The Lakefront 7s was one of the first amateur events to publish and maintain a rugby tournament website in the USA. But the event has long history of pushing the boundaries for a summer rugby tournament.
From finding a location on the Milwaukee shoreline in the 1990s to becoming the largest summer rugby event in the country, to joining the Championship Cup Series in 2010, the tournament has many feathers in its cap.
On the digital front, the Lakefront 7s was one of the first amateur events to:
- keep accurate scoring on its website.
- manage team registration and payments exclusively online.
- manage their teams, scheduling and results with a dedicated app.
- integrate team accommodations with team registration.
Today we are proud to announce the next phase of our digital evolution: the third iteration of our event website!
Features of our rugby tournament website, lakefront7s.com
Extending on the work invested in the 2011 and 2018 sites, the current iteration has been reengineered for performance. Additionally, the content has been carefully curated to dramatically improve access to information about the event, past results, and visiting the Milwaukee area.
Adding new content is also much easier. We hope to improve in this area so we can deliver results from the event in a more timely fashion.
