Athlete safety is the primary concern for all of us here at the Lakefront 7s and Milwaukee Barbarians Rugby. As such, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely.
We have spent the last few weeks consulting with our vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders, and carefully reviewing state and local guidelines and mandates. Based on this research, we have decided that the Lakefront 7s will proceed as currently scheduled.
Critically, we have been in touch with the venue owner (Milwaukee County) and our insurance carrier and have received their approvals to hold the event on the original date of June 27, 2020.
We will obey all state and local recommendations and mandates
We recognize that COVID-19 is a dynamic situation and we plan to follow all state and local recommendations and mandates that are in place during our event window (last week of June).
Should the current social distancing recommendations and/or the Safer at Home order for Wisconsin be extended past the current April 24th deadline, we will make any needed changes to remain in compliance. This includes rescheduling or cancelling the event as appropriate.
Refund guaranteed through June 25
The Lakefront 7s has a long-standing 30-day refund policy. We are now extending this policy as follows: full refunds will be issued to all teams if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 up to and including June 25, 2020.
