The Lakefront 7s is committed to supporting rugby in the greater-Milwaukee area. But we also like to be active in the community raising money for Parkinson’s Disease research and supporting the Hunger Task Force.
This year we’re adding a new initiative to help provide the homeless with basic necessities like sweatshirts and toiletries.
Thus, we’ll be collecting the following items at the team check-in table:
- Gently used sweatshirts & hoodies
- Travel-sized toiletries
We know all the ruggers attending the Lakefront 7s have tonnes of used rugby gear in their closets. This is your opportunity to get rid of those gently-used items and make space for the new merchandise you’ll pick up from Rugby Athletic this year!
All collected items will be distributed to those in need through our partnership with Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge, homeless outreach service.
Every Saturday morning “Mr. Bob,” Bob Burmeister, and dozens of volunteers, including members of the Milwaukee Barbarians Rugby Club, gather at Kosciuszko Park 2201 S 7th St, Milwaukee, WI 53215, where they distribute a variety of much-needed items to homeless men, women, and children.
