The Wisconsin Rugby Referee Society in conjunction with the Lakefront 7s Rugby Festival and Tournament — the largest Midwest rugby sevens event — will conduct two referee courses:
- Level 1 Referee
- 6/29, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Coaching of Match Officials Level 1
- 6/29, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
These Friday evening sessions will each be held at Marquette University.
Both courses will conclude at the Lakefront 7s in Milwaukee’s Veterans park with an 8:00 AM Saturday meeting (6/30) for the conclusion of the courses and actual refereeing at the event.
“The WRRS has been officiating at Lakefront 7s for decades and have exclusively provided the referees for the last 5 years,” said Erik Goetz, Referee Educator for the Wisconsin Rugby Referee Society. “By combining referee education with practical experience, we’ve created a unique training platform.”
