Tag rugby had a successful day at the 2024 Lakefront 7s tournament with Monona Grove winning the championships across three divisions! All three Monona Grove teams led a 5-0 streak as they kept strong energy throughout their division games. You can find the tag rugby results of the four divisions of 1st through 9th graders down below!
Teams from Waukesha, Green Bay, Menomonee Falls, Fox Cities, Fon Du Lac, Monona Grove, West Bend, Sussex Hamilton, and Wauwatosa were seen across the tag rugby division.
The 1st and 2nd grade division consisted of nine teams. They didn’t have a championship, but played just as tough as their older counterparts.
In the 3rd and 4th grade division, Waukesha and the Monona Grove Silver Eagles battled it out in the championship. A final score of 7-1 gave the undefeated Silver Eagles their first trophy in the 3rd and 4th grade bracket (pictured below).
Moving into more tag rugby results, Monona Grove’s 5th and 6th grade team won their second trophy in a row, as they were champions last year as well. In the championships, the Silver Eagles faced Fox Cities and won in a competitive match 4-2.
Also taking their second win two years in a row was Monona Grove’s 7th, 8th, and 9th grade team. The Silver Eagles put up a challenging fight against Green Bay and ultimately won 3-8. This allowed them to snag their top spot in the 7th-9th grade division.
Monona Grove took home three trophies from the 2024 Lakefront 7s tournament and had a successful trip to Milwaukee!
