The Pulaski Roos made their way to the top of the men’s competitive division for the second year in a row and grabbed the champion title. In 2021, the Pulaski Alumni had their first debut at Lakefront 7s and won the men’s social division. Now, they have officially started a winning streak for the men’s competitive division.
The Roos were positioned in group B and led an undefeated record before taking their second consecutive championship win. In their first match, they ramped up their energy and beat Kansas City Blues 21-0 with three tries and conversions.
The second match was much tougher as MRFC showed some resilience against the Roos. With three tries and two conversions, MRFC gave their all against the Roos but in the end, lost 27-19. The Roos gained 17 more points in their third match against the Royal Ramblers (17-0) before making their way to the semifinals.
The Green Bay Celtics pressed great offense onto the Roos in the semifinals and strategized as they scored two tries during the match. The Roos didn’t lighten up their pressure and came back to win 21-12.
In the championships, the Kansas City Blues prepared to ramp up their play and take back their loss as they got another shot to defeat the Pulaski Roos. Fans were on the edge of their seats and hanging tightly to their umbrellas as they watched a super competitive game. The Kansas City Blues put up a good fight scoring two tries, but the Roos took the win as they scored a third try during the match and took the 2024 men’s competitive division title.
