St. Louis derby caps first “super” social division

The Kings and B-53 Bombers — both from St. Louis, MO — met in the first-ever Cup Championship for the Men’s Super Social Bracket.

The Kings were 3-0 in pool play (3-0) defeating Barky Selects (Gunbarrel, CO), Chiefs (Oswego, IL) and Bar-barians (Milwaukee, WI) along the way. In the first semi-final, they defeated Marquette (Milwaukee, WI) 24-12.

The Bombers had a similar path to the championship match with victories over Black & Blue (Milwaukee, WI), Fatbois Lite (Hungryville, USA), and Krakens (Lake Michigan, IL) in the pool stage and a 21-14 win vs. the Freeborn Felons in the second semi-final.

The Cup Championship could barely have been a closer affair. The Bombers would win the day with one more try than the Kings, but excellent kicking accuracy by the Kings meant the 24-21 scoreline was razor-thin.
