The heath and safety of the rugby community is one of our top priorities at the Lakefront 7s. That’s why we previously made a commitment to follow all state and local recommendations and mandates regarding the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
With this in mind, we are planning on holding the 2021 Lakefront 7s as planned on June 26. We have not yet received the permit from Milwaukee County for Veterans Park, but we are proceeding on the assumption that this will come through as cases of COVID-19 continue to drop.
Backup date
If we are unable to obtain a permit for June 26, we have also reserved Veterans Park for August 21 as a contingency. All registrations for the event will be valid for either date, and will also eligible for a full refund if the alternate date does not work for your team.
Only 64 teams will be accepted
The Lakefront 7s normally sells 90+ team tickets each year. In the interests of safety for teams and our volunteers, the tackle side of the 2021 event is capped at 64 teams. Given the long stretch without rugby and the limited team numbers, we expect demand in 2021 to be extremely competitive .
Any limits for the non-contact/youth side will be announced separately.
